GST & GPX gene mutations

GST GPX gene mutations

The GST & GPX genes are important detoxification genes, so important that if you have bad GST and or GPX genes you can become toxic and get very sick with the disease.

One of your body’s most powerful antioxidants is called glutathione, glutathione is really good at detoxifying many problem substances from your body such as heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides and many other xenobiotics (not naturally produced toxins).

Your GST gene’s job is to make GST enzyme so that your body can transfer your glutathione to locate your toxins so that they can be detoxified from your body.

When you have GST gene mutations, your glutathione can’t grab onto your toxins, and the risk therefore of becoming toxic becomes very high, this can then lead to disease, and or you become hypersensitive to chemicals which we see as MCS (multiply chemical sensitivity).

MCS (multiply chemical sensitivity)

MCS is becoming a big problem as we see many new patients who can’t live in society without the side effects of chemical sensitivity.  Today, chemicals are everywhere thanks to the industrial age, people are exposed to hundreds of thousands of toxic chemicals in the air, water and even the food supply.  Many of those with MCS basically can’t leave their home because of the overwhelming symptoms the MCS can produce.  Here is how that may look for you:

Symptoms of MCS

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Brain fog
  • Sinus congestion
  • High blood pressure
  • Runny nose
  • Earache
  • Watery eyes
  • Coughing
  • Weight gain (overweight and or obesity)
  • Sneezing
  • Digestive problems
  • Migraines
  • Rashes
  • Hives
  • Inflammation
  • Intolerance to smells
  • Intolerances to foods
  • Intolerances dust
  • Intolerance to mold and mycotoxins
  • Sensitivity to detoxification
  • Unexplained reactions

Your GPX gene works to make the GPX enzyme, this enzyme is required to help glutathione mop up hydrogen peroxide (H202) that is produced in your body from stress.

When you have GPX gene mutations, you can’t properly detoxify your H202, this creates a bigger problem by interfering with your methylation.  There are thousands of symptoms associated with methylation disruption, too many to list here, but having problems with excess H202 and GPX gene mutations can look like the following:

  • Premature aging
  • Problems with mood and or memory
  • CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome)
  • Irritability and or aggression
  • Cancer (Thyroid, prostate, cervical, gastric and or colon cancer)
